Il Guercino eseguì questa tela, precedentemente collocata nel refettorio del Convento della Santissima Trinità dei Cappuccini di Cento, in collaborazione con altri due artisti, uno dei quali potrebbe essere il fratello Paolo Antonio Barbieri, pittore esperto in nature morte. Gesù risorto si rivela ai pellegrini con il semplice gesto della benedizione del pane e, conseguentemente, intorno a lui si manifestano lo stupore e la preghiera. La luce lambisce le figure, fa emergere il cibo e gli oggetti appoggiati sulla bellissima tovaglia bianca e definisce i due incantevoli brani di paesaggio.

Il Guercino completed this painting, previously located in the refectory of the Santissima Trinità dei Cappuccini Convent in Cento, in collaboration with two other artists, one of whom may have been his brother Paolo Antonio Barbieri, a painter expert in still life. Jesus risen reveals himself to the pilgrims through the simple gesture of the blessing of the bread, and, consequently, there is astonishment and prayer around him. The light gently touches the figures, highlights the food and items lying on the beautiful white tablecloth, and delineates the two charming pieces of landscape.
